Drexel in Ireland: Summer in Dublin

The Drexel in Dublin program is a unique opportunity that allows Drexel students to spend 5 weeks living and studying in Dublin, Ireland. Dublin is an ancient city that is currently one of the most dynamic and fastest growing European capitals. This program is open to all majors and offered during summer term only. The Drexel in Dublin program can also be taken in conjunction with the Drexel in London program. This option allows students to spend 5 weeks in Dublin and 5 weeks in London during the summer term--if this option interests you, please apply for the Dublin+London program. Both programs are run in partnership with the Foundation for International Education "FIE." For more information on the Dublin+London option, please visit that program page.
FIE has teamed up with the Dublin Business School "DBS" in order to utilize their on-site faculty, housing accommodations, classrooms and, campus resources. Student participants will be from Drexel and other American universities. FIE's experienced resident director works together with DBS to support students in fully utilizing the historical, cultural, social and political resources of Ireland in their out-of-class time.
Dublin is an ancient city that is currently one of the most dynamic and fastest growing European capitals. Ireland has wholeheartedly embraced the opportunities afforded by European Union membership. With a young and vibrant population of over one million, it has enjoyed considerable economic growth in the last decade. While Dublin may be a city on the move, the charm, culture and heritage of old Dublin is still apparent everywhere. Check out Dublin Events Blog
Campus: Classes will be held at DBS which is located in the heart of the city just a few minutes' stroll from St. Stephens Green, Grafton Street, Trinity College and the Temple Bar district. Also close by are shops, galleries, museums and the Houses of The Oireacthas (the Irish Parliament and Senate). The city offers an ideal base for exploring other countries in Europe. Dublin is well-served with a large number of European airlines offering low student fares to all the major cities and attractions in Europe. London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome and Venice are all within a three hour radius by airplane.
