Drexel in Germany: Summer in Berlin

world map

Program Overview

The Summer in Berlin program offers Drexel pre-juniors and juniors a unique opportunity to spend 4 weeks living and studying in Germany’s vibrant capital city. This program is open to all Business and Economics majors and minors, as well as International Area Studies majors with an interest in Business.  The program takes place at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL), conveniently located in the city. Berlin is unique as a university location; it is diverse, stimulating and exciting - a perfect venue for students from all over the world.

In addition to coursework and program excursions, the BSEL International Office team also offers a “Culture and Leisure Time” program which includes a wide variety of optional cultural and social events in Berlin and surrounding area about twice a week. This may include visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites (Museum Island in Berlin, Castles and Gardens in Potsdam), Berlin Wall Museum and Holocaust Museum, excursion to the Memorial Sachsenhausen, a boat trip, Beach Bar, and many other activities.

Berlin, the capital of Germany, has a population of approximately 3.5 million inhabitants. Since the federal government´s relocation from Bonn to Berlin in the 1990s, the city has experienced an influx of many national and international institutions, ranging from industrial and professional organizations to diplomatic representations, and the Berlin government continues to encourage important service industries to settle here in Berlin. Berlin is also the most important scientific center in Germany with a high concentration of colleges, universities and research institutions throughout the city. As a cultural metropolis, Berlin has about 50 theatres, three opera houses, 300 libraries, and over 100 museums and cinemas.
